When you book a repair or request an estimate, we collect only what we need to do the work — your name, contact info, job details, and any photos you send — and we use it to schedule, perform, and follow up on your service. We never sell your personal information, we share it only with the partners needed to complete your project or meet legal duties, and you can ask us to access, correct, or delete it at any time. This policy covers our website aaahandyman.services and the handyman and home improvement services we provide in Oakland County, Michigan. It works together with our Terms of Service. Please read both carefully.
1 Information We Collect
Personal Information
- Contact details (name, phone number, email, address)
- Service request and online booking details, including project descriptions and your preferred appointment dates and times
- Details you submit through our estimate, contact, emergency, commercial, Customer Care, review, careers, and Quarterly Home Care plan forms — such as your city or service address, the date of an earlier service, business details for commercial requests, and any photos you attach
- Details you enter in the Google Calendar appointment scheduler on our booking page, which handles scheduling on our behalf under Google’s own privacy terms
- Payment records, such as the amount, date, and method of payment (cash, check, Zelle®, Venmo®, or Cash App). We do not take card payments through our website and never receive or store card numbers
- Communication records, including messages you send through our on-site chat assistant, and project photos
- Photos, optional contact details, and location details you submit to our AI Repair Estimator, along with the estimate it generates for you
- Reviews, ratings, and photos you choose to submit for public display on our website
- Your email address and name when you claim our $50 new-customer Loyalty Credit, so we can honor the one-per-household limit
- Job application details if you apply through our Careers page (work history, qualifications, availability, resume, and related disclosures)
Automatically Collected Information
- Website usage details (IP address, pages visited, browser type)
- Device specifications and operating system information
- Small preferences saved in your own browser (local storage), such as whether you have already claimed the new-customer offer or dismissed its banner
- Basic spam-prevention checks (a hidden form field and our hosting provider's automated spam filtering), which may process the IP address and content of a form submission
2 How We Use Your Information
- To provide, schedule, and complete requested handyman services.
- To communicate about appointments, estimates, and follow-ups.
- To process payments and send receipts.
- To improve our services and overall website experience.
- To answer questions you ask through our on-site chat assistant.
- To analyze the photos you submit to our AI Repair Estimator, generate a preliminary price range, and — only if you submit the estimate — share those details with our dispatch team to follow up.
- To publish reviews, ratings, and photos you submit, and to showcase completed projects.
- To review and respond to job applications submitted through our Careers page.
- To confirm Quarterly Home Care plan requests by phone, schedule seasonal visits, and review warranty and Customer Care requests against the original job.
- To send free preventative and seasonal maintenance reminders if you opt in on our contact form, along with occasional promotions. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Text Messaging
If you provide your mobile number, we may contact you by call or text about appointments, estimates, Customer Care requests, and service follow-ups — or, if you apply for a job, about your application and interview scheduling. We send promotional text messages only with your express consent, and we do not share your mobile number or texting consent with third parties for their own marketing. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, or opt out of promotional messages by contacting us using the details below. Opting out of promotional messages does not affect service-related messages about a job you have booked.3 Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only in these limited cases:
- With trusted service partners or subcontractors needed to complete your project.
- With Google Calendar, which powers our self-service appointment scheduling tool on our booking page under Google’s privacy terms.
- With the bank or payment app you choose to pay with (such as Zelle®, Venmo®, or Cash App), which processes your payment under its own privacy terms, and with Google Analytics, which helps us understand how the website is used.
- With Google (Gemini), the AI provider that powers our on-site chat assistant through our hosting platform’s AI service, which processes the messages you send in order to generate replies.
- With Google (Gemini), the AI provider that analyzes the main photo submitted to our AI Repair Estimator through our hosting platform’s AI service. Uploaded photos stay stored on our hosting platform, and only a submitted estimate’s details are shared with our dispatch team.
- With Netlify, which hosts our website, forms, and secure photo and data storage used to process the requests described in this policy.
- When required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our customers and team.
Reviews You Submit Are Public
When you submit a review, the name, city, service type, rating, highlights, written review, and up to three photos you provide may be published publicly on our website, along with any public reply from our owner. Please share only what you are comfortable making public. You can request an update or removal at any time using the contact details below.4 Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure visits and page views in aggregate so we can improve the site; we do not use this information to identify you personally, and we do not use advertising cookies. Our booking page embeds Google Calendar’s appointment scheduler, which may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy terms. A few preferences, such as whether you have claimed our new-customer offer, are saved in your browser’s local storage rather than sent to us. You can clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings, or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, though some site features may not work as intended.
5 Data Security
Security Measures
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.6 How We Store Your Information
Form submissions, estimates, reviews, Quarterly Home Care plan requests, and reminder sign-ups are stored securely on our hosting platform (Netlify), and appointments made through the booking page are kept in our Google Calendar. All of it is used only for the purposes described in this policy. Photos you upload are stored with the related request and are viewable only by our team. Details to keep in mind:
- Photos submitted to the AI Repair Estimator are kept with your estimate and are viewable only by our team; they are used for follow-up only if you submit the estimate, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Chat assistant conversations are used only to answer your questions in the moment. We do not save chat transcripts to our database or use them to build individual profiles.
- We keep project records for as long as needed to provide your services, honor warranties, meet tax and legal requirements, and resolve disputes — then delete or anonymize them.
- Seasonal maintenance reminders continue until you unsubscribe using the link in our messages or by contacting us.
- When you claim the new-customer Loyalty Credit, we keep a record of the email address, name, and date so the offer can be used once per household.
7 Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to request access to or correction of your personal information, ask us to delete your data (subject to legal requirements), and opt out of promotional communications. Contact us using the information below to exercise these rights.
8 Children's Privacy
Our website and services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or maintain data from anyone under 13. If we discover such information, we will delete it promptly.
9 Third-Party Websites
Our website links to outside services such as Google Maps, Facebook, Yelp, and Nextdoor. When you follow those links, or post a review on those platforms, your information is handled under that company’s own privacy policy, not this one.
10 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
